I would drive 1000 miles

In the past week I have driven over 1000 miles, of course it happens when the gas prices are at their highest, oh well what are you going to do?

Jack and I left last Wednesday after we dropped Emma off for the 6 hour drive to Kerrville. I have a friend there who has two children with Autism and she needed some help to get things straight with the school district. I was happy to help and it was kind of weird stepping into an ARD after 5 years out. Spending time with her and her boys really made me miss working so I am going over some things in my head and trying to make some decisions. I love her dearly and was so glad to spend this time with her and get to know her sons. We spent Thursday night with another friend and a bottle of wine, after way too much talking, laughing and drinking we went to bed. I was happy and content, my life is so full of strong women and I feel so blessed by them all. Emma stayed with Andrew and it was just what it needed to be, they had a great time of meals at their favorite restaurants, Chuck-e-cheese, movies and slumber parties. Emma says she had a great time with her Daddy, and I had a great time one on one with Jack. It is so rare our kids get undivided attention from us. I am more in love with my little man than ever and so enjoy spending my days with him.

We returned to Fort Worth Friday after a 6 hour car drive, Jack was a total trooper. We spent one day at home repacking and headed off to Houston Sunday after church. We had a great visit with Jamie and her kids, My Mom and Dad, and My sister and her kids. It was a quick trip, but a great one and I am so glad we went. Jack got pink eye while in Houston so we treated him and he so nicely passed it on to all of us. We are all better now and it was no big thing, but it always seems to happen when we are out of town.

We are back in Fort Worth now and plan to spend the rest of spring break just resting. Today we had swimming, Emma swam 25 yards freestyle with rotary breathing, backstroke and breast stroke she is amazing in the pool and after 4 years of lessons it has all clicked! We went to McDonalds where we ran into an old friend and it was so nice to reconnect. Now both kids are down for a nap and we are heading out later to get some plants to plant in our yard. The weather could not be more beautiful and I am loving this time with the kids, it is slow, relaxing and just perfect!

Happy St. Patricks Day! We had green pancakes, and green oj for breakfast. Are making Green cupcakes for afternoon snack, and will have a green feast for dinner. It is fun and the kids are loving it. Making memories that is what it is all about.
